Our mission

Our school is passionately dedicated to individually enhancing the prospects of all our students in a safe, personalized environment. We give every student-athlete the tools to live their passion, realize their dreams of excellence, and push the boundaries of the achievable.

The pillars of our mission

Within the MIS community, we personalize our approach and ensure a balance between sports and academics. Our students face challenges with determination and enthusiasm, develop their potential, flourish, and become the best version of themselves. We value respect, kindness, and effort while celebrating our students’ passion and success. We impart knowledge and skills and provide them with the necessary tools to become engaged global citizens capable of successfully carrying out their projects.

MIS understands global citizens to be respectful and empathetic individuals who contribute to the worldwide community.  We aim to raise students’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities as global citizens. Through a multicultural environment that values every person’s uniqueness, students share experiences and points of view. Their differences enrich their learning experience and allow them to become effective communicators who will advocate and serve the global community.

Digital citizenship is the ability to use technology responsibly, safely & respectfully. We recognize the major role of technology in today’s world: research, communication, and creative projects. However, we are all aware of the dangers of its excessive use. Therefore, MIS works with students on how to responsibly use digital tools and safely navigate digital environments to become tomorrow’s digital literates and critical thinkers.

Our values

1

Perseverance

Nothing in life and especially sports comes without hard work, grit and determination. These are values that we consistently impress upon every student at MIS.

2

Personalization

A one size fits all approach is not one we believe in. Everyone is an individual and we endeavor, at every level, to ensure that the student feels as though he has access to the tools that help him or her to succeed.

3

Fulfillment

We aim to give the student a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment experienced when they achieve their personal and athletic goals, develop their skills, and realize their potential through comprehensive training, education, and support provided by MIS.

4

Passion

In whatever field of human endeavor, those who succeed best are those infused with passion. We aim to intensify the passions students already possess, as well as opening up new avenues of interest.

5

Diversity

We accept people from all creeds, backgrounds, nationalities. We live and study together as well as compete against each other whilst simultaneously knowing that our very differences enrich us as a school and as individuals.

6

Excellence

In all that we do, we forever strive for excellence. This comes with pushing the limits of what we deem possible, whether in the realms of academia or sports.

7

Autonomy

We ingrain in all student athletes the physical and psychological resources to be equipped to be as autonomous as possible in an ever-changing world.

8

Global citizenship

We desire to foster an environment where all can learn from each other’s cultures and perspectives. We aim to raise students’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities as global citizens.

9

Confidence

Whether on the court or in the classroom, belief in one’s self is critical. We seek to instill a legitimately held sense of confidence that will serve students as they pursue any avenue or career.

10

Balance

With the Delphic adage, ‘nothing in excess’, the Ancient Greeks advocated the need for balance. We give students the tools to succeed both academically and athletically whilst keeping them grounded.

11

Respect

We recognise and appreciate everyone’s inherent dignity whatever their background. Whether it be for congratulating a victorious opponent, or acknowledging fellow peers in the corridor, or listening to fellow classmates without interruption, we all possess an innate right to be respected and a duty to respect others.

12

Well-being

The combination of sports and academia can take a toll on our student athletes.  We thus not only aim to ensure that students are physically well but we pay special attention to their mental health, this especially impacted by the necessity to excel both on court and classroom.

13

(Self-)discipline

We attempt to instill this critical quality for student athletes which encompasses the ability to control one’s actions, stay focused, and make decisions that align with long-term goals. These include but are not limited to academic success, athletic performance, time management, and personal development.

14

Kindness

This being even more so the case in the competitive world of sports, kindness is a trait which people unfailingly undervalue. We understand that to create a harmonious society is a compassionate one.
